How you can help

The success of all non-profit organisations relies not only on the dedicated people directly associated with the projects but also the generous members of the public who wish to spread a little kindness to others. Thank you to everyone who makes our work possible.

One of the most important ways people can help us is to spread the word about our work "em"  the more people who know about us, the more people will support us and enable us to continue with and expand our work. So please do talk to your friends about the Darling Trust and ask them to spare a moment to visit our website.

For a few of the many other ways to support our work, please read below.

Donations
All our projects require funding to keep them going and we also need further funding to put other plans in to action. If there is a particular project of ours that you would like to support please do let us know so that we can provide you with more information. However, please bear in mind that donations received without restriction to a certain project help us tremendously because they allow us to the flexibility to react quickly so that we can help those in need straight away.

The South Africa Development Fund has kindly offered to accept US$ donations for us - passing on 100% to us and absorbing all the costs involved in the transfer. If you decide to donate through the South Africa Development Fund, please ensure you indicate that the donation is for The Darling Trust in the menu portion of the cheque.

For more information, please go to www.sadevelopmentfund.org/donate.asp

Debit orders
Monthly debit orders are a vital form of support. Regular monthly donations allow us to plan ahead and manage our budget effectively. Our bank account details are on the contacts page and although it will only take a short visit to your bank to arrange a monthly debit order, it could make a life-long difference to those we strive to help.
Give As You Earn

The Give As You Earn scheme was launched by the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in 2002 and now supports over 100 non-profits organisations in South Africa. Please consider approaching your employer to set up a Give As You Earn scheme in aid of The Darling Trust. Through this scheme employees give a monthly amount directly from their salary and often the employer will match this monthly gift. The minimum per month is R10, which seems small, but if just 12 colleagues joined you and your employer matched the donations, collectively you could pay for our HIV/AIDS patients to reach the specialist clinic where they receive the expert care that is so vital to their lives. So, you can see how quickly this scheme can turn R10 in to R260!

Please go to the CAF website for more information www2.cafonline.org/cafsouthernafrica

Sponsored events
A quick visit to the Runners World website (www.runnersworld.co.za) will reveal a list of walks, runs, marathons and even double marathons! If you, like most of us, need some motivation to get moving, how about taking part to raise sponsorship money for The Darling Trust?

Almost anything can be used to raise sponsorship money; whether you shave off your beard, bake and sell cakes, have a car boot sale, take a dip in a bath full of baked beans, abseil off Table Mountain or spend a whole day in silence – how ever much money you raise to support our projects will be very much appreciated.
